View through CrossRef
Objective. This paper hopes to lay a foundation for properly understanding the role of the Hakka terrace system in the future development of agricultural economy by evaluating and comparing the values of the farmland ecosystem in the core area of The Hakka terrace system in Chongyi, Jiangxi province, in the year 2013 and 2019. Methods. By sorting out the evolution of Chongyi Hakka terrace system, we can figure out the corresponding multidimensional values obtained in rural revitalization process, thus forming the value evaluation system, calculating the values of each value system in 2013 and 2019, analyzing and comparing the reasons behind numerical changes, and making suggestions accordingly. Results. In the year 2013, the economic value, ecological value, social value, and cultural value of the farmland ecosystem accounted for 11.72%, 6.15%, 80.36%, and 1.77% of the total value. In the year 2019, the figure is 19.22%, 2.75%, 76.67%, and 1.36%, respectively. Conclusion. The noneconomic value of terrace ecosystem far exceeds its economic value, so the utilization rate of farmland production should be increased based on the local conditions so as to maximize the value of the agricultural system and boost rural revitalization.
