Heterogene Redoxkatalyse an Ti/TiO2‐Kathoden – Reduktion von Nitrobenzol

Eine neue keramische Elektrode für die Redoxkatalyse wird aus aufgerauhtem Titanblech hergestellt, das man mit einer Lösung von Titanacetylacetonat in HNO3 überzieht und auf 450°C erhitzt. Bemerkenswert an der so aktivierten Elektrode sind die hohen Stromdichten (im Beispiel 5 A/dm2). Diese Elektrode wurde für die Reduktion von Nitrobenzol herangezogen. Sie verläuft wie folgt unter Rückbildung von Ti(OH)4:
