This study has reviewed an extensive amount of studies to better understand Photojournalism, its meanings across the world and documenting its importance in media, through the research methodology of reviewing 30 plus most cited articles on the concerned subject at hand. As Photojournalism is the fastest kind of communication as this requires no reading and writing skills, even an illiterate can get the message through a photograph or an image. The media is considered as the life wire of a democratic society. On the daily basis, media report issues of national and international importance by project the event or incident through Photojournalism. In this regard, the study aims to understand the meanings of Photojournalism as used and practiced by various countries across the globe. At the conclusion, the paper provides a comprehensive definition of Photojournalism, after reviewing maximum research papers on the topic.
