Women near a river (vom Bearbeiter vergebener Titel)

Left part of the Triptych (other parts not in the MAK) Utamarohitsu linlinlinThree women on the banks of a river On the other side of the bank, a young man with a servant holding one of his swords. In the background flourishing cherry trees and kerrie (yamabuki). On the other two leaves a part of a house and other women can be seen. Inside the house were marked for the hinamatsuri Im 文 (puppetry) on 3.3. Dolls set up. The triptych could also be an allusion to the Kabuki play “Imoseyama Das Das Das Das Das”, which is about two unfortunate lovers whose families are hostile and whose houses are separated by a river. In Ukiyoe taikei the leaf Utamaro II is ascribed (cf. Lit.).
