Analisis Konsep Pendidikan Islam Menurut Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas dengan Orientasi Pendidikan Islam

Abstract. The era of globalization is characterized by quality competition which requires all parties in various fields, including the field of education, to always increase their competition, so that in such conditions the demand for the quality of human resources is highly prioritized. The cycle of Islamic education that should be designed is relevant to changing times and the needs of society in an era, both concepts, teacher quality, objectives, curriculum and others. If new challenges are faced using the old strategy then all efforts undertaken will fail. The author tries to recommend several ideas through the thoughts of Islamic figures who provide ideas and concerns regarding Islamic education, one of which is Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas who was born on September 5, 1931 in Bogor, West Java. The approach used in this research is qualitative (qualitative research) using a type of literature research because it is based on library data. In this study the authors used the method of content analysis (content analysis). Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas argues that humans are physical and spiritual beings as well as consisting of aspects of spirit (ruh), soul (nafs), heart (qalb) and intellect (aql). When it is related to the body, humans are referred to as the animal soul (al-nafs al-hayawaniyyah) and when it is related to the rational soul (al-nafs al-nathiqah). The implication for education is that the orientation of Islamic education according to al-Attas directs humans so that a rational soul can lead the animal soul contained in the term ta'dib because the structure in it includes knowledge (ilm), teaching (ta'lim) and upbringing (tarbiyah). This means that education in the ta'dib concept is not only limited to the transfer of knowledge by educators but directs how the initial human potential leads to the final goal, namely happiness in the world and in the hereafter.

Era globalisasi ditandai dengan kompetisi mutu yang menuntut semua pihak dalam berbagai bidang, termasuk bidang pendidikan untuk senantiasa meningkatkan kompetisinya, sehingga dalam kondisi yang demikian tuntutan terhadap kualitas sumber daya manusia sangat diprioritaskan. Siklus pendidikan Islam yang harusnya didesain relevan dengan perubahan zaman dan kebutuhan masyarakat pada suatu era, baik konsep, kualitas guru, tujuan, kurikulum dan lain-lain. Jika tantangan-tantangan baru dihadapi dengan menggunakan strategi lama maka segala usaha yang dijalankan akan menemui kegagalan. Penulis mencoba merekomendasikan beberapa gagasan lewat pemikiran tokoh Islam yang memberikan gagasan dan perhatiannya mengenai pendidikan Islam salah satunya yaitu Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas yang lahir pada 5 September 1931 di Bogor, Jawa Barat. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif (qualitative research) dengan menggunakan jenis penelitian pustaka karena didasarkan pada data-data kepustakaan. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan metode analisis konten (content analysis). Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas berpendapat bahwa manusia merupakan makhluk jasadilah dan ruhaniah sekaligus yang terdiri dari aspek ruh (ruh), jiwa (nafs), hati (qalb) dan intelek (aql). Ketika berkaitan dengan jasad, manusia disebut sebagai jiwa hewani (al-nafs al-hayawaniyyah) dan ketika berkaitan dengan jiwa rasional (al-nafs al-nathiqah). Implikasinya terhadap pendidikan, maka orientasi pendidikan Islam menurut al-Attas mengarahkan manusia supaya jiwa rasional dapat memimpin jiwa hewani yang terdapat dalam istilah ta’dib karena struktur di dalamnya mencangkup pengetahuan (ilm), pengajaran (ta’lim) dan pengasuhan (tarbiyah). Artinya pendidikan dalam konsep ta’dib dilakukan tidak hanya terbatas pada pentransferan ilmu oleh pendidik tetapi mengarahkan bagaimana potensi awal manusia menuju arah tujuan akhir yakni bahagia di dunia dan di akhirat.
