View through Europeana Collections
Franciszka Themerson (1907-1988) was a Polish painter, stage designer and illustrator. She served as an art director of Gabberbocchus Press, a small publishing house she co-founded in London in 1948 with her husband and lifelong collaborator, Stefan Themerson. The Themersons published highly curated selections of texts, often accompanied by Franciszka’s startling and witty illustrations. "Gaberbocchus Some of the Old Favourites” is a collection of humorous Christmas and holiday season postcards that showcase the range and originality of Franciszka’s creative vision.
