Skreen, Co. Meath: Lismullen Church: Ascension of Christ flanked by scenes from the life of Christ, with the Crucifiixon in the tracery

Colour scheme for a three-light window in Lismullen Church, Skreen, of the Ascension of Christ, with scenes from the life of Christ set in medallions on the side lights, and the Crucifixion in the tracery. This window was commissioned by Lady Dillon of Longworth Hall in Hereford and designed by Harry Clarke, with drawings by Philip Deegan submitted to the patrons. The window was transferred to St. Patrick’s Church in Trim after Lismullen Church was demolished in 1964 as a result of the Church of Ireland’s ‘Sparsely Populated Areas Commission’ report. It was sold to a private collector at a Sotheby’s auction in 2006. Signatures/ Inscriptions: Bottom left hand side: ‘Approved John [Bishop of] Meath Jan. 19 1929’
