medicine. This review aims to provide a
comprehensive overview of Calendula officinalis,
encompassing its botanical characteristics,
chemical composition, traditional uses,
pharmacological activities supported by scientific
evidence, clinical trials, toxicity, and potential
future applications. The flowering plant Calendula
officinalis belongs to the Asteraceae family. In
China, India, and Europe, this plant is utilised as a
