NAJMIDDIN KOMILOV AS A RESEARCHER OF OGAHIY’S TRANSLATION STUDIES ACTIVITIES

This article examines the formation, major representatives, and scholarly and literary heritage of the nineteenth-century Khorezm School of Translation, which occupies a significant place in the history of Uzbek translation studies. It analyzes the translation activities of Shermuhammad Munis, Muhammad Rizo Agahi, Bobojon Sanoi, Komil Khorezmi, Qutb Khorezmi, and Mirzo Bayani, as well as the artistic and theoretical value of translations from Persian, Arabic, and Ottoman Turkish into Uzbek. Special attention is given to the academic research initiated in the 1980s under the leadership of Ghaybulla As-Salom and to Najmiddin Komilov’s doctoral dissertation on the history of the Khorezm translation school of the nineteenth century. The article emphasizes Agahi’s translation principles, his contribution to the development of the Uzbek literary language, and the necessity of further comprehensive studies based on modern translation studies methodologies.
