View through CrossRef
In this paper, discussions on its geographical location and shape as a building were conducted on the historical site called “Lee Kun-chang's Birthplace”, which had been illuminated at the level of cultural assets, mainly using Chinese literature as evidence.
Through discussions in this paper, it was clear that Lee Kun-chang's birthplace was Ganghwa-do, and literature data and geographical information confirmed that the geographical location of Lee Kun-chang's birthplace was justified, and the current appearance restored as a thatched house was in line with the consciousness of Lee Kun-chang and his ancestors. In addition, in case of reorganizing not only houses but also landscaping elements, it was found and presented in literature so that the trees he loved at the time of the founding could be restored. Through this, it is hoped that national interest and support for the birthplace of Lee Kun-chang will continue, and more precise and convergent research will be derived from architecture and traditional landscape academia.
