ANALISIS TINDAK TUTUR EKSPRESIF PADA CERPEN “MALING” KARYA PUTU WIJAYA

This study aims to describe and analyze the forms and functions of expressive speech acts in Putu Wijaya's short story "Maling" based on pragmatics. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research data consists of utterances of characters in the short story containing expressive speech acts. Data collection techniques were carried out through reading and note-taking techniques, while data analysis was carried out by identifying, classifying, and interpreting the meaning of the utterances based on the context of the speech situation.The results of the study indicate that 20 expressive speech acts were found, divided into five types: complaining (5), blaming (5), criticizing (6), apologizing (1), and sarcasm (3). These expressive speech acts are used by the characters in the short story to express psychological attitudes such as irritation, anger, disappointment, fear, moral reflection, and social criticism of society's behavior that is quick to judge without clarification. These findings indicate that the short story "Maling" not only presents narrative conflict but also represents emotional dynamics and social criticism through the use of language rich in expressive speech acts. Based on the analysis of the short story "Maling" by Putu Wijaya, it can be concluded that the use of expressive speech acts in the short story is very dominant and plays a significant role in building conflict, character traits, and the social message the author wants to convey.
