Immigrés, « clandestins » et menaces diverses supposées peser sur la France en raison de la présence de « trop nombreux étrangers » réputés mal intégrés à la société : vieux débats et vieux démons en vérité. Le présent article a pour objectif d’en analyser certaines des origines qu’il faut chercher dans le passé colonial de la France, et dans le sort longtemps réservé aux « colonisés-immigrés » venus d’Afrique du Nord pendant l’entre-deux guerres.
