View through Europeana Collections
Two identical copies of the same postcard, including an excerpt from a painting based on the work of the German-Jewish artist Eduard Julius Friedrich Bendemann (1811-1889), "The Prophet Yeremiah". The postcard was printed with the name of the artist and the name of the work in Hebrew and German (on the printing in brown sepia, later) or in French (on the first print, from 1903), and a hairdraser was also specified. According to this number, it was produced within the first 100 postcards of "Lebanon", Moscow, in 1903, and printed in Warsaw. One of the postcards is a divided postcard, while the other is not divided. The company's name and trademark were printed on the back of the postcards. These postcards were not used and were removed from the collection of "Lebanon" postcards donated to the National Library in 1939 by the publisher's editor-in-chief, Mr. Benjamin Mintz, Warsaw.
