Abscesso aural em Tigre D’água (Trachemys scripta scripta): Relato de caso

Aural abscess frequently occurs in chelonians and is characterized by the accumulation of caseous debris in the middle ear region. The signs are an increase in volume in the middle ear that can be unilateral or bilateral, head asymmetry, secretion at the dorsolateral pharyngeal outlet and at some points in the Eustachian tube. The diagnosis is basically made through clinical signs and radiographic examination. The established treatment is clinical and surgical. This report describes the case of a 6-year-old Trachemys scripta scripta, with an increase in volume in the region of the right ear, and gradual decrease in appetite and activity. After 10 days of the full established therapeutic protocol, the animal responded to the treatment and was discharged. This case report aims to show the success of the clinical and surgical treatment of the aural abscess in a Trachemys scripta scripta.
