RESPONSE OF VARIOUS PLANT GROWTH REGULATORS AND VARIETIES ON MORPHO-PHYSIOLOGY, YIELD CHARACTERISTICS OF JUTE SEED PRODUCTION
View through CrossRef
Plant growth regulators are used as stimulants in many crops to enhance growth and yield. There is limited information regarding the effectiveness of growth regulators on jute seed yield. In order to examine the influence of plant growth regulators and varietal differences on jute seed yield, research was conducted at the Agronomy Field Laboratory of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. The experiment comprised four varieties, viz. BJRI Deshi pat 9, BJRI Tosha pat 7, BJRI Deshi pat 8, O-9897 and five plant growth regulators (PGRs) viz. Gibberellic acid (GA3), Naphthalene acetic acid (NAA), Magic Growth, 4-Chlorophenoxy acetic acid (4-CPA) and no PGR (Control). A randomized complete block design (RCBD) including three replications was used to set up the experiment. It was observed that variety O-9897 with Magic Growth gave the highest seed yield (3.52 t ha¬-1) along with seed yield plant-1 (17.19 g) and number of seeds pod-1 (200.27). The lowest seed yield (1.83 t ha-1) along with seed yield plant-1 (8.94 g) and number of seeds pod-1 (36.14) were found from BJRI deshi pat 9 when no PGR was applied. Based on the experiment’s findings, it is evident that variety O-9897 has a higher potential for increasing jute seed yield when Magic Growth is applied.

Title: RESPONSE OF VARIOUS PLANT GROWTH REGULATORS AND VARIETIES ON MORPHO-PHYSIOLOGY, YIELD CHARACTERISTICS OF JUTE SEED PRODUCTION
Description:
It was observed that variety O-9897 with Magic Growth gave the highest seed yield (3.
52 t ha¬-1) along with seed yield plant-1 (17.
19 g) and number of seeds pod-1 (200.
27).
The lowest seed yield (1.
83 t ha-1) along with seed yield plant-1 (8.
94 g) and number of seeds pod-1 (36.
14) were found from BJRI deshi pat 9 when no PGR was applied.
Based on the experiment’s findings, it is evident that variety O-9897 has a higher potential for increasing jute seed yield when Magic Growth is applied.
