When I was first asked to make this talk about the engineer and the citrus industry, I was horrified at the thought that anyone would get up and try to extol the virtues of their profession in a group so knowledgeable and experienced as you. Nothing but a fool would do this! But I was convinced by your Program Committee members that we should do it, and that I might be able to pull it off — and I will try.
