The modern banking system of the Republic of Armenia plays a pivotal role in fostering sustainable economic development by offering a wide range of financial services to individuals and legal entities. This article examines the legal nature and content of the concepts of "banking activity" and "bankingservice" within the framework of financial sector regulation in the Republic of Armenia. The study aims to comprehensively analyze the existing legislation, doctrinal approaches, and practical aspects related to the definition and classification of banking services, as well as to formulate proposals for their more precise and functional delineation. The key aspects of the study include: an analysis of the legislation governing banking activities in the Republic of Armenia; identification of shortcomings in the current definition of "banking activity"; examination of banking services as a subcategory of banking activity, highlighting their distinctive characteristics; classification of consumer banking services in the Republic of Armenia based on various criteria; proposal of a comprehensive approach to defining banking activity and banking services, taking into account economic, legal, and social dimensions. The study emphasizes the need to refine legislative definitions to ensure effective regulation and adaptation to innovations in the banking sector.
