Barrels The Qing Dynasty.

BARRELS. Oval roast barrel with oblique protruding, straight edge with contoured outer edge. Decor in blue. Main motif a garden with two herons. Around the bay a lambrequin board, with four larger and four smaller lobes with flowers and leaves. On the bottom an obscure seal mark. Purchased by Wilhelmina von Hallwyl on 26 September 1906 at Bukowski’s art trade for 31 kr. The ornate stretcher pattern on the edge and spearhead stretcher around the recess are common on export items from the mid-1700s. The decor was used on millions of items that were part of European food services. The central patterns varied and could be added to items that made up the bulk of the export trade. Porcelain meat plate Porin underglaze cobalt blue Qing dynasty, c.1750 The ornate border design on the rim, and the spearhead border round the well, are the standard for export wares of the mid 18th century, used on the subject of desire for European ornservices. Central diverse, and Central at will to wares that formed the bulk of the export trade.
