Effectiveness of Modified Shaoyao Tang in Treating Ulcerative Colitis:Protocol for a Systematic Review and Meta-analysis (Preprint)
View through CrossRef
BACKGROUND
Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a very common inflammatory bowel disease, mainly characterized by persistent and diffuse inflammatory reactions in the colon mucosa. Many randomized controlled clinical studies have shown that Shaoyao Tang has good therapeutic effects on UC. However, there is currently no systematic review or meta-analysis published on the treatment of UC with Shaoyao Tang, which is worthy of our team's research.
OBJECTIVE
The purpose of this system review plan is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Jiawei Shaoyao Tang in the treatment of ulcerative colitis.
METHODS
This system review will collect Web of Science, Pubmed, Embase, VIP, Wanfang, CNKI, and China Biomedical Literature Database (CBM) to collect all eligible randomized controlled trials from the establishment of the database until August 15, 2023. These two researchers will strictly follow the screening process, including research screening, data extraction, and quality evaluation. The main outcome is clinical efficacy. The main software used in this study is Review Manager V5.4 software.
RESULTS
The current systematic review and meta-analysis will investigate the role of Shaoyao Tang in the treatment of UC.
CONCLUSIONS
The conclusion of this study will provide some reference for clinical doctors to use Shaoyao Tang to treat UC.
