The effect of monolithic packing on gateroad performance at Lingan Colliery
View through CrossRef
A monolithic packing system was installed in the 9E Maingate at Lingan Colliery, New Waterford, in an attempt to reduce air loss through the waste. The performance of the gateroad before and after the implementation of the new packing method was monitored so that
any deleterious effects of the change might be detected and corrected at an early stage. This report describes the investigation programme and the effects of the packing change determined from the investigation results, from which it was determined that the deformation behaviour of the roadway was
virtually unchanged.
