Published in “DIE ERSTE MAPPE,” edited by Wolf Przygode, Publishing House of poetry, Gustav Kiepenheuer, Potsdam, 1921. 5th edition, without the publishing house’s dry stamp. From abstract, organic forms such as circles or waves, animals, such as snakes, cattle or fish, as well as plants emerge. The woodcut is relatively dark and printed with yellow and green color accents. Franz Marc took part in a project to illustrate the Bible with modern graphics around 1914. He chooses as a theme “The Creation” and created four woodcuts: “The Birth of the Horses,” “The Birth of the Wolves” as well as the “Creation History I” and the “Creation History II.” In the collection inventory of the Christian Arts Foundation Wittenberg there is only this sheet of “Creation History II.” Signed by the printer Fritz Voigt at the bottom left with "gedr. F.Voigt’.
