The Naether business house in Judenstraße 2
View through Europeana Collections
Karl Erich Merseburger shows us the Naether’s Stellmacher company’s business house at the time of its founding. In 1846, the Zeitzer Stellmachergeselle Ernst Albert Naether took over the father’s workshop on Judenstraße 2. Large wagons and sleds, and simple racks for children’s clothes were made here. Due to the demand, more and more complete strollers emerged.
With several strollers in tow, as can be seen here, Naether is said to have once moved to the Leipzig fair. (Museum Schloss Moritzburg Zeitz)
