HUMANISTIC IDEAS OF JANUSZ KORCZAK THROUGH THE PRISM OF COMPARATIVE STUDIES

The article attempts to provide a generalized description of the comparative studies of the theory and practice of pedagogical activity of the outstanding Polish scientist and teacher Janusz Korczak carried out in recent decades. It is emphasized that in solving the problem of forming a humanistic personality, there is a growing interest in his inexhaustible creative heritage for scientific analysis and interpretation. The author analyzes research and publications that highlight the peculiarities of the pedagogical work of a humanist teacher: dissertations, monographs, articles. The collections of materials of scientific and practical conferences of various levels are annotated, which present theoretical comprehension by modern researchers of the pedagogical achievements of the outstanding teacher and present the practical application of his ideas in the activities of educational institutions. The article demonstrates the reflection of Janusz Korczak’s figure in the information printed and electronic resources of the State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine named after V. O. Sukhomlynskyi. It is noted that researchers have paid attention to the similarity of approaches and a certain mutual influence in the views on various problems of the educational process of Janusz Korczak and Sh. Amonashvili, J. Babitsky, F. Dolto, J. Locke, T. Lubenets, A. Makarenko, J. Pestalozzi, I. Tkachenko, V. Sukhomlynsky, P. Yurkevych.The article briefly characterizes the scientific works in which a comparative analysis of certain provisions and ideas of Janusz Korczak and A. Makarenko, V. Sukhomlynskyi, T. Lubenets, P. Yurkevych is carried out. It is concluded that a significant part of J. Korczak's views are common to those of other humanist educators of the twentieth century. The diverse creative heritage of the outstanding teacher finds further development in European humanistic pedagogical theories, in the modern pedagogical thought of Ukraine, Poland and other countries.
