The subject is part of a large collection of UN-related objects that were donated to the Armémuseum from the Confederation of Swedish Peacemakers in August 2007. The items in the collection have been collected under various Swedish UN missions, from Gaza in 1957 to Bosnia in the late 1990s. On 31 August 1999, a non-profit inventory project was launched under the direction of Gun Lindén, representative of the Swedish Peace Basques. Five people inventoried about 1300 objects from the collection that was then on Almnäs Garnison. After the closure of Almnäs Garnison, the collection was moved to Uppsala Garnison in March 2004, where it was moved at least five times within the area due to lack of space. However, the inventory continued, while new items were added from several other Swedish UN missions outside the world. Many of the newly accessed objects male are never inventoried. At the end of 2007, the Armémuseum was given the task of re-inventing the objects to select suitable objects for the collections. On 21 August 2007, 29 pallets with an estimated 1600 items were therefore submitted to the museum’s close magazine. After completion of the inventory, a sample of about 150 objects was made that were judged to be representative of the collection as a whole. The Archival and Library Unit of the Army Museum in turn selected what was to be taken into the collections regarding archival material and photographs. This material will be more thoroughly inventoried in a separate future project. / Andreas Ohlsson through Anna Fredholm 2007-12-07.
