Clinical Efficacy Observation of Jiawei Fuyuan Huoxue Decoction Combined with External Fixation by Manipulative Reduction Splinting in the Treatment of Elderly Distal Radial Fractures with Cardiovascular Disease

View through CrossRef
Abstract Background Distal radial fractures (DRF) is the most common type of fracture in clinical practice, mainly affecting middle-aged and elderly people, with a higher incidence among women. Conservative treatment is commonly used. As the aging of the population in our country accelerates, the incidence of DRF is on the rise, which has had a serious impact on patients' lives and health. Fuyuan Huoxue Tang is a classic prescription, which is often used in orthopedics for its effect of warming yang, nourishing the heart, and promoting blood circulation and circulation. However, in clinical application, it is necessary to make modifications to Fuyuan Huoxue Tang to achieve the goal of syndrome differentiation and treatment. Purpose This study was designed to explore the effect of Jiawei Fuyuan Huoxue decoction (JFHD) combined with external fixation by manipulative reduction splinting in the treatment of elderly distal radial fractures with cardiovascular disease patients, analyzed its clinical efficacy in order to provide a basis for the clinical application of JFHD. Methods A total of eighty elderly patients with DRF were selected and divided into two groups according to the treatment plan. The control group of 40 cases received external fixation by manipulative reduction splinting, while the observation group of 40 cases received sequential treatment with JFHD combined with external fixation by manipulative reduction splinting. The efficacy, rehabilitation status, heart rate, blood pressure and complications of two groups were analyzed. The changes in muscle strength and grip strength on the affected side were record. Results The observation group had shorter swelling reduction time, pain disappearance time, and clinical fracture healing time than the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, both groups of patients showed a significant decrease in heart rate (HR), systolic blood pressure (SBP), and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) compared to before treatment (P<0.05); Compared with the control group, the experimental group had lower levels of HR, SBP, and DBP. After treatment, both groups showed significant improvement in muscle strength (including pronation and supination) and grip strength on the affected side compared to before treatment, and the observation group had higher muscle strength and grip strength (P<0.05). Conclusion The sequential treatment of elderly DRF with JFHD combined with external fixation by manipulative reduction splinting can alleviate pain, promote rehabilitation, improve upper limb function, improve heart function and promote the recovery of motor function. Future longitudinal studies are needed to verify the impact of JFHD combined with external fixation by manipulative reduction splinting in the treatment of elderly DRF patients.

Description:
Results The observation group had shorter swelling reduction time, pain disappearance time, and clinical fracture healing time than the control group (P<0.
05).
After treatment, both groups of patients showed a significant decrease in heart rate (HR), systolic blood pressure (SBP), and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) compared to before treatment (P<0.
