Determinan Kejadian Post Partum Blues Pada Ibu Nifas Di Puskesmas Candipuro Kabupaten Lampung Selatan Indonesia

Background: Postpartum blues is a mild emotional disorder that commonly occurs during the postpartum period and can develop into postpartum depression if not treated properly. Various characteristics of postpartum mothers such as age, parity, education, and social support are thought to be related to the incidence of postpartum blues. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between the characteristics of postpartum mothers and the incidence of postpartum blues. Method: This study used a cross-sectional design with a sample of 85 postpartum mothers selected by purposive sampling in the Candipuro Health Center, South Lampung Regency in July–December 2024. Data were collected using a characteristic questionnaire and the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) instrument. Data analysis was carried out univariately, bivariate using the chi-square test and multivariate using the logistic regression test. Results: The results showed that there was a significant relationship between maternal age (p = 0.047), education level (p = 0.029), employment status (p = 0.001), and social support (p = 0.132) with the incidence of postpartum blues. Conclusion: Characteristics of postpartum mothers such as age, education, and employment have a significant relationship with the incidence of postpartum blues. These results are expected to be the basis for early detection and prevention of psychological disorders in postpartum mothers through appropriate education and support.
