Vilhelmina Fredrika Alexandra Anna Lovisa of the Netherlands, born 5 August 1828 in The Hague, died 30 March 1871 in Stockholm, was Princess of the Netherlands and Queen of Sweden and Norway as the wife of King Karl XV. She was the daughter of Prince Fredrik of the Netherlands (17971881) and Luise of Prussia (18081870). Princess Lovisa married Karl XV of Storins, Stockholm, on 19 June 1850. Lovisa and Karl were very different, and their relationship was never very happy. However, the couple received Two Children, Louise (1851) and Carl Oscar (1852). Due to a complication associated with the later childbirth, Lovisa not have more children. The son died in measles with subsequent pneumonia in 1854, to the great grief of his parents. In 1859 she became Queen of Sweden and Norway.
