Rabbi Moses David Valle’s Mystical-Messianic Diary: A Record of Spiritual Experiences and Visions
View through CrossRef
This chapter probes Rabbi Moses David Valle's kabbalistic-messianic works, which makes a unique contribution to the literature of Jewish mysticism by its dated personal notes. It alludes the nature and general significance of the 'diary entries' as a sort of mystical and messianic journal that concerns spiritual experiences and visions on scriptural. It also looks at the content of Valle's entries that are interpreted as revelations of hidden truths. The chapter reviews two entries written in the middle of 5491 and early in 5492 that express praise of Rabbi Moses Hayim Luzzatto's status as the embodiment of the biblical Moses. It talks about the scriptural quotation that is attached to the 'manifestation of the light of Moses', which means the sefirah Tiferet or domain of Moses in the celestial system.
