View through CrossRef
SUMMARY: Aim: The aim of the article is to highlight Padre Pio of Pietrelcina and some of the remarkable events of his life that continue to draw people to San Giovanni Rotondo. They come seeking the truth and love that Saint Padre Pio offered to everyone he met. His words were an encouragement to his spiritual children and friends during his earthly life, and they remain a source of profound inspiration for the faithful today. Methods: The article uses methods of analysis and synthesis of professional literature, theoretically identifying key events and then supporting and clarifying them with relevant facts. The explanation is grounded in established theories and existing knowledge. The topic needs to be presented in a more accessible and clear manner. Results: Padre Pio, the spiritual father, performed many admirable miracles. He had the gift of recognizing the moment in a person’s life when true change could begin. His entire life was marked by long hours of prayer and continual asceticism. His letters to his spiritual guides reveal the indescribable physical and spiritual suffering that accompanied him throughout his life, as well as his profound union with God. On June 16, 2002, Pope John Paul II solemnly canonized him. Although he lived a simple and holy life in the rugged mountains of southern Italy, he became known throughout the world. His widespread popularity also gave rise to controversies and challenges that delayed the canonization process for some time after his death. Conclusion: Padre Pio of Pietrelcina is one of the greatest saints of recent centuries. Even in his childhood, it was evident that he was an exceptional child of God. He was deeply pious, and from a young age he desired to become a priest. At sixteen, he entered the Capuchin order and received the Capuchin habit. He always sought to help others and took a particular interest in the causes of their suffering. Few saints had as many spiritual children during their lifetime, and even after their death, as Padre Pio. Although he spent most of his life in a monastery, lots of people came to him just to spend a moment in his presence. Today, there is hardly anyone who cannot find encouragement for their spiritual life in the words of this Capuchin from San Giovanni Rotondo. Originality: Padre Pio was deeply devoted to God, and his faith profoundly influenced many people. Through the witness of his remarkable life, he allowed us to glimpse the world in which he lived, a world that touched on many aspects of everyday human experience. He both demonstrated and taught others how to believe in God, draw closer to Him, grow spiritually, develop personally, maintain and nurture relationships, love others, forgive, face unexpected situations, and rejoice in the gifts that life offers. He was the first priest to bear the stigmata, and he was also known for the gift of bilocation and the ability to read people's hearts. Keywords: Capuchin priest. Church. Stigmas. Saint. Pilgrims. Hospital.
