View through CrossRef
The Alwyn Gentry Award was established to recognize outstanding student presentations at the annual meeting of the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation. This year, at the Uberlândia meeting, 33 oral presentations and 38 posters were judged. Thanks to all who judged the posters and oral presentations. I am proud to announce the winners of this year's awards. Liliana Rios received the award for her oral presentation entitled “Architectural Study of the Priora copaifera Grisebach (Caesalpinaceae) Community in a Rainforest of the Darien Region, Colombia.” The best poster award goes to Thiago J. Izzo for his poster entitled “Land‐Use History Affects the Re‐establishment of Amazonian Myrmecophytes and Their Obligate Ants.” The winners will receive a year's subscription to Biotropica, a cash award from ATBC, a book grant from the University of Chicago Press, and an honorarium to recognize their efforts. On behalf of the ATBC, I wish to congratulate them all. Thomas E. Lovejoy (Chair, Alwyn Gentry Award Committee)
