Joachim Andersen’s Compositions

Abstract During the course of his life, Joachim Andersen composed beautifully simple character pieces as well as impromptus, etudes, theme-and-variation pieces, a work for two flutes and piano/orchestra, ingenious arrangements, and the complex and turbulent Deuxième morceau de concert that Paul Taffanel commissioned for the 1895 Paris Conservatory Concours. Andersen proved himself to be among the finest flutist-composers of the nineteenth century.
