Kitibha Kushta and its Successful Ayurvedic Management Through Shamana Chikitsa
View through CrossRef
Kitibha kushta, classified under Kshudra Kushta in Ayurveda, presents with characteristic features like Kharasparsha (rough skin), Kandu (itching), and Shyava/Krishna Varna (discoloration). This case study highlights the successful management of Kitibha kushta through a purely Ayurvedic approach using Shamana Chikitsa without any Shodhana procedures. A 30-year-old female presented with chronic lesions over the palms with dryness, scaling, and itching. The treatment protocol included internal administration of herbal formulations like Naga Kesara Churna, Vidanga Churna, Manjishtha Churna, and Arogyavardhini Vati along with local application of Karanja Taila. Dietary and lifestyle modifications were also advised. Follow-up over ten weeks showed progressive improvement, with complete relief by the eighth visit. This case demonstrates the efficacy of classical Ayurvedic management in chronic skin disorders.
