Max Klinger, Brahms Fantasy
View through Artsy
Max Klinger was one of the most important German artists of his generation. He was a painter, sculptor and graphic artist, but also an enthusiastic amateur pianist. While artists and writers throughout the 19th century were inspired by the idea of music, this essentially “romantic” art, Klinger had a particular fondness for music: Beethoven, Schumann and above all Brahms.
