The volume is the first comprehensive presentation of William Burroughs's writing in Polish. It discusses contexts relevant for his major works (the Beat Generation, experimental literature) as well as some key aspects of the reception of his books at the time of their publication and now. A lot of attention has been devoted to Burroughs's non-literary artistic activities and his influence on contemporary culture. The volume is addressed to academic as well as general readers who are interested in American literature.
