Strategi Pengelolaan Konten Instagram dalam Meningkatkan Eksistensi Seni Kabaret Bandung

Abstract. Social media has become an effective communication tool for promoting arts and culture, including kabaret art originating from Bandung. This study aims to examine the content management strategies on the Instagram account @federasikabaretbandung to enhance the existence of kabaret art among the younger generation. By utilizing the Reels feature, the account seeks to convey the values of kabaret art through creative visual approaches that align with the digital preferences of Gen Z. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Data were collected from Instagram account managers, audiences, and the kabaret community in Bandung. The findings indicate that the content management strategies implemented involve three main approaches based on Jones and Pittman’s impression management theory: ingratiation, self-promotion, and exemplification. These approaches are applied in the planning and production of content to create emotional connections with the audience, increase awareness, and build a positive image of Bandung’s kabaret art. The results of the study suggest that utilizing the Reels feature can effectively reach a wider audience, strengthen appreciation for kabaret art, and sustain its existence in the digital era. This research contributes to the development of digital communication strategies for preserving local cultural arts and serves as a reference for other communities aiming to optimize social media utilization. Abstrak. Media sosial telah menjadi alat komunikasi yang efektif dalam mempromosikan seni dan budaya, termasuk seni kabaret yang berasal dari Bandung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji strategi pengelolaan konten pada akun Instagram @federasikabaretbandung dalam meningkatkan eksistensi seni kabaret di kalangan generasi muda. Dengan memanfaatkan fitur Reels, akun ini berupaya menyampaikan nilai-nilai seni kabaret melalui pendekatan visual yang kreatif dan relevan dengan preferensi digital Gen Z. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, melibatkan observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumentasi. Data dikumpulkan dari pengelola akun Instagram, audiens, dan komunitas kabaret Bandung. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pengelolaan konten yang dilakukan melibatkan tiga pendekatan utama berdasarkan teori manajemen impresi Jones dan Pittman: ingratiation, self-promotion, dan exemplification. Ketiga pendekatan ini diterapkan dalam perencanaan dan produksi konten untuk menciptakan hubungan emosional dengan audiens, meningkatkan kesadaran, serta membangun citra positif seni kabaret Bandung. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa pemanfaatan fitur Reels dapat menjadi sarana efektif dalam menjangkau audiens yang lebih luas, memperkuat apresiasi terhadap seni kabaret, dan mempertahankan eksistensinya di era digital.
