Research on Safety and Health Monitoring of Old Elevators

Given the increasing safety and energy consumption issues related to the aging of safety components in old elevators, the aim is to achieve a digital and intelligent approach to the safety supervision of these elevators. By combining the existing Internet of Things (IoT) technology with structural health monitoring, a scientific and efficient safety and health monitoring platform for old elevators can be established. This platform enables the reporting of operational data, fault prediction, and decision-making regarding elevator operations. Specifically, it provides data support for safety assessments of old elevators, making recommendations for repairs, upgrades, or renewals more valuable. We hope this research opens up new ideas and methods for the safety supervision of old elevators.
