Meta-Mirror with Enhanced Circular Dichroism using Chiral Metasurface

The symmetry breaking structures has the ability to design meta-mirrors for numerous real-life applications. Hence, chiral structures has the ability to design meta-mirrors with circular dichroism for potential applications in chiral imaging, optical sensing and communications, etc. In this work, an L-shaped chiral structure is designed to achieve enhanced circular dichroism at multi-bands in near infrared regime (NIR). The meta-mirror so-called meta-reflector consists of an array of dielectric based L-type structures with different parameters, arranged in a periodic configuration. By properly choosing the material and the geometrical dimensions of the chosen structure, the obtained reflection spectra for left- and right-handed circularly polarized light is significantly different. As a result, the overall efficiency of the reflector enhanced by the chiral structure. This work can have significant application in optical chiral sensing, NIR spectroscopy, communication, etc.
