Demotic texts are found on papyri, ostraca, stelae, stone (as graffiti), and, less frequently, on other materials. The steadily growing corpus of demotic texts illuminates many aspects of Late-Period Egypt. In this survey are cited chiefly publications appearing after Mark Depauw’s Companion to Demotic Studies, which appeared in 1997.
