For a time Rose and Percy continued to live in Oxley Road, and the piano lessons which Rose gave to other people’s children seem to have been lucrative enough for them to have retained one maid during this period-Martha was her name and Percy was devoted to her. From time to time they also took in a boarder whose rent helped them to survive.
