Artykuł opisuje życie, zwłaszcza wojenne lata, Stefanii Perzanowskiej (1896-1974), absolwentki Wydziału Lekarskiego Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego. Jako lekarz uczestniczyła w obronie Warszawy we wrześniu 1939 r. W następnych latach uczestniczyła w akcjach polskiego ruchu oporu, za co w 1942 r. została aresztowana i przetransportowana do obozu koncentracyjnego w Majdanku koło Lublina, gdzie zorganizowała prymitywny szpital dla kobiet. Artykuł opisuje zbrodnie popełnione w obozie w Majdanku, zwłaszcza eksperymenty na ludziach w szpitalu obozowym.
