Haunting London
View through CrossRef
My Victorians by Robert Clark offers a strong example of new, idiosyncratic writing in unexpected places with the potential to illuminate how we think about Katherine Mansfield. Clark’s work resists conventional categorisation, combining rigorous scholarly research with personal musings about the Victorian past and London’s past and present labyrinths and palimpsests. His foray into what Woolf captivatingly titled “street haunting” invites us to consider how Mansfield felt about and experienced London. Who were her Victorians, and how did they determine her London life and art?
