Light Bleaching with HID Lamps

View through CrossRef
AbstractThis paper reviews the development of the application of high intensity discharge (HID) lamps for light bleaching works of art on paper. It describes the construction of a light bleaching unit using HID lamps, specifying key functionalities of the system. In addition, selected methods of bleaching are discussed for their principal working parameters, namely immersion bleaching, bleaching on the slant washing board, and on a moist blotter. An appendix lists terms important to know when working with HID light bleaching systems.
