Objective: To trace the epidemiological profile of patients with SLE treated at Hospital Getúlio Vargas (HGV), in Teresina, Piauí. Methods: Descriptive and retrospective study, whose data were collected by consulting medical records in the Internal Medicine sector of the hospital. Results: Sixty-six patients with SLE, mean age 38.65±15.02 years, were included. There was a higher prevalence of female individuals (89.4%), aged between 18 and 30 years (39.4%), being single (31.8%) or married (31.8%), coming from the interior of the state (56.0%), brown color/race (53.0%). About 69.7% reported having no family history of diseases and the most reported comorbidities were: Cushing's Syndrome (18.2%), Osteoporosis (16.7%), Hypertension (15.2%), Lupus Nephritis (12 .1%), Hypothyroidism (10.6%) and Diabetes mellitus (9.1%). Most cases were diagnosed in 2021 (19.7%) and had lived with the disease for 1 to 5 years (48.5%). Conclusion: The analysis of patients with SLE treated at Hospital Getúlio Vargas showed that the number of patients diagnosed with the disease has been growing over the years in the state of Piauí, considering that 2021 was the year with the highest number of diagnoses.
