Dunbar, poète écossais de la fin du XVe siècle, est encore mal connu, car le moyen-écossais qu'il pratique avec virtuosité est difficile à dominer, même pour le lecteur anglophone. La présente traduction permet au public français de prendre contact avec un monde complexe et original : la vie quotidienne de la Cour écossaise et de la cité d'Édimbourg entre 1500 et 1510.
