View through CrossRef
Jalāl al-Dīn Rūmī, is a 13th-century Persian mystic poet whose verses continue to resonate across cultures and centuries. Rumi’s work, deeply rooted in Sufi philosophy, transcends religious and linguistic boundaries, offering profound insights into the human condition and the divine. The thematic analysis focuses on key motifs such as divine love, spiritual longing, unity of existence, and the transformative power of suffering. Through allegorical storytelling and lyrical metaphors, Rumi invites readers on an inward journey toward self⁃realization and union with the Beloved. His poetry reflects a dynamic interplay between reason and emotion, form and transcendence, revealing a worldview where love is both the path and the destination. By examining these themes, the study highlights Rumi’s relevance in contemporary spiritual discourse and his enduring legacy as a poet-philosopher of universal truth. Rumi’s verses, deeply rooted in Sufi mysticism, offer a profound exploration of the human soul’s journey toward transcendence. Central to this study is the poem “The Guest House,” in which Rumi uses the metaphor of a house to represent the human heart, welcoming all emotions—joy, sorrow, anger—as divine messengers. This poem encapsulates Rumi’s belief in radical acceptance and the transformative power of suffering. By embracing every experience as part of a greater spiritual unfolding, Rumi encourages readers to cultivate presence, humility, and trust in the divine order. The study analyzes how this theme of emotional hospitality reflects broader Sufi principles such as surrender (taslim), remembrance (dhikr), and the annihilation of ego (fana). Through close reading and contextual analysis, the paper “highlights” Rumi’s enduring relevance in contemporary discussions on emotional resilience, mindfulness, and spiritual growth.
