View through Europeana Collections
Two pairs of birds enjoy themselves between decorative flower tendrils and strawberry plants. While one is content to sing a large blossom, the other has already picked up the mature berries. William Morris was co-founder of the Arts and Crafts movement and is considered a innovator of the English arts and crafts. From 1870 he devoted himself to the design of decorative materials that he had produced in his own workshops in elaborate hand printing processes.
