Chōōrō Kuniyoshiga Ch様様様様様 Chseries by Kuniyoshi with a hundred famous heroes. Here Minamoto no Yorimitsu 様 (948-1021), a famous warrior (military leader) of the Heian period. On the lacquered vessel (stool?) gilded pattern with coat of arms of the Minamoto family: Sasarindō (Gentiane and bamboo leaves). Next to it the dancing figure Yorimitsus. On the fan the “sunrise pattern,” which has nothing to do with the imperial family. It was originally a coat of arms of the Minamotos. Clothing and hairstyle correspond to the style of the Edo period and the stand of a swordsman in the service of the Kaiserhof. Formal long sword in a sheath covered with fur. The scene is probably depicted in the “Revier” of the monster Shutendōji Darstellung 子, who is to be defeated with cunning by Yorimitsu and his four knights, or: she is a festive scene after the victory.
