Section of an Architectural Frieze
View through Harvard Museums
Section of an architectural frieze, decorated in relief. A vine scroll forms a continuous figure-eight pattern (only one complete section of which is preserved on this block), filled with leaves and a grape cluster. A narrow, damaged fillet borders one long edge of the block, terminating before the block's short edge, and suggesting that this section comes from a door or window frame.
