AbstractBlending modern and traditional aesthetics with sexuality, death, and political change, Yukio Mishima is likely the most influential Japanese literary figure of the twentieth century. He penned 34 novels, 50 plays, some 25 collections of short stories, and no less than 35 volumes of essays, as well as one libretto and a film script.
