Applique for horse ammo

A shirt-clad and paneled horseman moves in a gallop to the right, holding a short copy in his right hand. Behind his back is a human head with long hair and an open mouth. It is difficult to determine whether the head is of a man or a woman. In Hellenic redhead vases and on Etruscan mirrors the head of Orpheus is represented. The Thracian torrent may have passed on the image of the Great Mother Goddess patronizing her elect, or of Orpheus, a fortune teller, teacher and dedicator in Faith. Elka Penkova
